Justina Waddell

Hello, and welcome. This area is still under construction, but in the meantime, I’ll tell you a little about me and how I got started on this magical adventure called writing.

I have always loved to read and discovered early on that I could put myself in the books I read. I became part of the adventure, and that opened my eyes to making my own adventures for other people to get caught up in. I began writing short stories in high school, mostly as a way of expressing my inner thoughts. Back then my stories were more about animals and self-discovery. My current book still retains that need to write about self-discovery, but it’s also about overcoming odds.

I am currently a student at Southern New Hampshire University working towards gaining my bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing and English with a focus on fiction. I am also minoring in Graphic Design.

I live in Pennsylvania in the country where I get to watch deer in the fields, and squirrels and rabbits running around. My husband is retired and does leatherwork, beading, and forging. We have an 11-year-old son at home and 4 older kids off on their own. We are surrounded by our 6 pets, Blitzen, the scared of his own shadow, 11-year-old whippet mix, Ratchet, the can’t hold his licker 6-year-old shepherd mix, Phoenix, always grumpy 1-year-old ginger kitty, Ghost, the mouser 1-year-old grey kitty, Callie, the rescued calico stray who is of undetermined age, and Gemini, cockatiel who is the eldest of the bunch at 19! We basically have a zoo here! Each and every one of them gives me ideas and characters for my stories. My book in progress is on track to be published in summer 2023.
